Day by day
Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli
A road transfer south toward Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. On a clear day Kilimanjaro rises directly over the park, and Amboseli's elephant herds are some of the most habituated and photographed in Africa.
Day 2
Full day in Amboseli
A full day exploring the swamps and dry lake bed that give Amboseli its wide-open views, with elephant, buffalo and, most afternoons, a clear look at Kilimanjaro's snow-capped summit.
Day 3
Amboseli to Tsavo
A road transfer east into Tsavo, Kenya's largest protected area, arriving at a lodge overlooking one of the park's waterholes in time for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 4
Full day in Tsavo
A full day of game driving across Tsavo's red-dust plains, home to the region's famous red-dusted elephants alongside lion, buffalo and, with luck, leopard.
Day 5
Final drive and departure
A last morning game drive before the transfer back toward Nairobi or the coast.
