A stay steeped in conservation history, this was the home of Joy Adamson, author of Born Free and one of Kenya's most celebrated conservationists, until her death in 1980. The property is now managed as a conservation centre and museum, with 8 guest rooms in the original lakeshore setting surrounded by colobus monkeys and abundant birdlife. An afternoon tea on the lawn watching colobus monkeys in the fig trees is a quintessentially Naivasha experience. The history, affordability, and ecological character make Elsamere genuinely distinctive.
